Board attending: Richard Becker, Lorie Callaway, Jill Pauley, Anita Haines, Alan Johnson and Deb Yeutter
Members: 25 total members attended the meeting
- Meeting was called to order.
- Richard Becker introduced the board members.
- Minutes from the 2025 Annual Meeting were accepted.
- We reviewed the association activities from 2025.
- Deb on web site.
- Lorie on insurance. She stated that there was a 4% increase in the fees, but determined that was quite reasonable compared to other insurance companies.
- Playground – Anita and Alan reported that we have newer mulch, took down some rotting logs in the park and that vandalism was down.
- Trees and Landscaping- Richard reported on the trimming of trees or take down of trees from 2025. Wind storms have affected the amount of work that was required. He also reported that Terry Stehlik is preparing a 5-year plan for landscaping the south pond.
- Ponds – Richard reported that the south pond and ½ of the middle pond are our responsibility. We have a new company, MD Aquatics that has been helping us with the duck weed removal and repair/maintenance of the aerators and fountains. He also reviewed the past project with UNL/Dr. Comfort and stated that the project had no costs to our association. Unfortunately, that project didn’t work for our use and Anita posted it on Marketplace and it was removed. It was also brought up that the cat tails are moving into the wetlands. We will probably need MD Aquatics to remove some of them. It was also brought up that we may need to dredge the south pond as there is debris that travels from miles away to our small pond. Richard spoke with Big Thompson Creek HOA and they are looking into putting a screen on the inlet that goes into the south pond.
- Board members whose terms will expire were Deb Yeutter, Jill Pauley and Terry Stehlik. It was moved to have these members serve for another 3-year term.
- Replacement for Bill Blake, who no longer is a member of our association was replaced by Allen Forkner.
- Other association discussions:
- Marilyn Heelan requested dredging of the south pond. It is an expensive project at over $1,000,000 to do so. We will table that until we have exhausted other options. She also mentioned that the kids in the neighborhood are using electric bikes and scooters much more and a lot of kids are zipping down sidewalks at over 30 mph. This is a safety issue. Also, young kids that have not driving training don’t necessarily know the rules of the road and there is an accident waiting to happen. Parents, please speak with your kids.
- Loma Circle is asking for support the island in their circle. It was mentioned that the city owns that property and did not turn that over to the HOA.
- The meeting was adjourned.
Respectfully Submitted,
